A walk with a talk about what is around on the day. These talks always varied as they change naturally with the seasons, the weather and sometimes the time of day. Check out the Events and tickets page for upcoming and previous Talking Tours. Full details for each event in the listing.

Each tour is led by a highly qualified local Ecologist, Botanist, Historian, Archaeologist, Antiquarian, or Conservationist. 2-3 hours long, covering 1.5 – 3 miles morning or afternoon.

Walking Tours subjects include:

Ecology and conservation – The living environment, the wildlife, ecosystem preservation and enhancement.

Botany – The plants observed on the walk, their uses historical and present, folk law and other interesting facts.

History, archaeology and pre-history – Delve into the past of the area, from Neolithic times that shaped the ancient landscape to the present day.

Farming – Seasonal activities and farming practices. What is growing or sowing, changes in farming practice, the risks and rewards of agriculture and how it is vital for our survival.
